A Korean MMORPG by Game Prix that was originally known as St. Soul is making its way to North America and Europe thanks to Outspark! Renamed Divine Soul, the game is a hybrid mix of gameplay elements. Like Allods Online and Neo Steam, Divine Soul has a steampunk setting. What’s even more exciting is the action oriented gameplay. Large numbers will show up over an enemy’s head as they are hit, giving players a much more fluid and fast paced gameplay experience. Like Guild Wars, Divine Soul will make heavy use of instancing. Players will able to meet up and form parties of up to four in towns before heading out on various instanced dungeons. The dungeons in the game are similar to those in games like Dungeon Fighter Online, players must clear one room of all monsters before progressing to the next. As of now, the level cap is fairly low and player will be able to max out pretty fast. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing since Divine Soul also has plenty of PvP options. Players can participate in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 death matches. The game’s controls will be similar to those of an action-RPG. The mouse and keyboard will be important in delivering attacks, and player will even be able to string various attacks together to form combos. Divine Soul will support game pad support at launch so if you have an Xbox 360 controller lying around, you’ll be able to put it to use here. So far Divine Soul is looking a lot more promising than Outspark’s other recently announced MMORPG, Erebus Travia Reborn. The game will be free to play, and is scheduled for closed beta testing towards the end of April. Billed as an "MMO action RPG" EREBUS TRAVIA REBORN is the newest game to join the Outspark stable. Set to head in to closed beta tomorrow (Wednesday, March 17th) and offering 3-d Isometric gaming that reminds us of old-school dungeon-crawling, we suspect that EREBUS TRAVIA REBORN will likely draw some old-school eyes. Based on an already existing Korean game called Travia, we got a chance to play with it a bit at gdc 2010, and our impression was of a fun free-to-play title that returns us to some of our earlier days of gaming. The simplistic stat system combined with a heavy leaning towards action-packed game-play looks to be a good mix for folks new to the genre as much as for those who love nothing more than to spend hours leveling their characters. If you haven't picked up a closed beta key as yet, there may still be some availble around the web, or you can apply for the closed beta on the erebus site. While characters will be wiped (it's still closed beta after all) there's still something to be said for getting in early and having fun before the crowds show up! Players who manage to hit level 10 in the closed beta will also get a special surprise (we have no idea what it is either) when open beta starts too.

EverQuest II (EQ2), based upon the popular EverQuest, is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by SONY ONLINE ENTERTAIMEND (SOE) and shipped on 8 November 2004. It features graphics and gameplay vastly updated from its predecessor. EverQuest II is set on the fictional world of Norrath five hundred years after the The Planes of Power storyline of the original EverQuestgame. The gods withdrew from the world in retaliation for mortal incursions into their planes. On Norrath itself, Dark Elves and the Orcs destroyed much of Faydwer; while the Ogres, Goblins, Orcs, and Giants ravaged Antonica. Transport and communication to the moonLuclin were cut off. The storyline says that 100 years ago, the continent of Antonica was ripped apart into smaller islands, which are now called the Shattered Lands. The oceans became impassible, preventing contact between the continents of Norrath. Fifteen years ago, the moon Luclin exploded and parts of the Shattered moon remain in the sky. EverQuest II takes place in what is called the Age of Destiny. In this setting, Queen Antonia Bayle of Qeynos is a benevolent sorceress who welcomes all goodly races to her city to help rebuild Norrath. The Overlord of Freeport, Lucan D'Lere, a centuries-old fallen paladin, rules the evil races in his plans of conquest. Within EverQuest II, each player creates a character to interact in the 3-D fictional world of Norrath. Within the game, the character can adventure (complete quests, explore the world, kill monsters and gain treasures and experience) and socialize with other players. The game also has a 'tradeskill' system that allows players to create items for in-game use. In the creation of a character, the player may choose the character's race and class. Various classes have specialized abilities that are complementary to their class. (Monks will get mainly melee combat abilities that use their fists or fist weapons, or a Warlock will get mainly spell abilities that do large amounts of spike damage but cost a lot of mana.) EverQuest II enables social interaction with other players through grouping and through the creation of guilds. Like players, guilds can gain experience and levels, partially from players completing special tasks called Heritage quests, but primarily from guild-oriented quests and tasks called "writs," and gaining guild experience by killing epic monsters. Higher guild levels open up special rewards unavailable to non-guilded characters, and cause certain other rewards to cost less. These rewards include housing options, mounts, house items, apparel, and special titles.

Both the game’s gameplay and graphics are quite impressive. Unlike traditional MMORPGs, Players are free to progress as they wish without being locked into a certain path based on their class. BattleForge is a video game developed by EA Phenomic and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on Windows in March 2009. A demo was released in the same month. BattleForge is a card based RTS. It revolves around trading, buying and winning through means of micro-transactions. World of Tanks is a new MMO in the works that promises to put players in command of their very own World War 2 era battle tank. WoT is a team based game where two sides of up to 30 players each will compete to destroy all opposing vehicles. With 150 combat vehicles of American, German, and Soviet design, World of Tanks promises to be an in-depth experience. The publishers promise a historical accurate setting and action oriented gameplay. RPG elements also make an appearance; players will be able to upgrade their tanks. Age of Armor is one of the few surviving Sci-Fi MMORPGs available on the market today, mainly due to it’s unique character options whereby players are able to choose both a Pilot, and a Mech. Throughout the game players must fight enemies, and each other, to earn credits that can be spent on new upgrades and parts to customize their Mech. Age of Armor provides players with an incredibly complicated and robust design system, but does little in the way of explaining how to properly navigate it. Players can customize almost every part of their Mech and participate in both PvE and PvP combat once they are happy with their design. Unfortunately, the slower-paced combat and hard to digest translations may deter many players from truly experiencing all that Age of Armor has to offer.

Pirate King Online is a pirate themed MMORPG, where players play warriors on land, merchants in the streets, and sailors of the sea. The Pirate King World (yet unnamed in their official website) consists of a bright and cheerful, anime styled world with friendly music in the background. Some players has noted Pirate King Online has certain graphical similarities to ROSE Online. Players can travel by walking, using teleport NPC, teleport tickets, and boats. Gameplay is fairly similar to most MMORPG mostly consists of killing monsters and earning items from them. Players venture forth from one of three major cities, either by land or sea, to complete quests and gain experience. Combat involves simply clicking on a monster and letting the character do all the work, but players can also use skills, spells, and items in the battle to aid them. The Skill/Spell system employed is close to the one used by Blizzard in Diablo II, where skills are assigned skill points, each character archtype has their own unique skills and skill tree, players learn new skills by reading books, and some skills have other requirements before they can be learned. The only thing missing from Diablo II's system is the graphic skill tree. However, skills are purchased from NPCs in the form of books, similar to ROSE online. However Pirate King Online has an unique sea battle system involving ships. Ships can be obtained early, as soon when the player reaches level 15 he/she can purchase a ship. At the cities harbor, players may construct, repair or refuel their ship. Ships unlocks certain unique aspect of Pirate King Online gameplay otherwise unavailable to players without a ship. Additionally, Sing-Guim International created an "Item Store", where players can purchase items for use in the game with credits called Rum. These items include things that are either rare in appearance or do not appear in the game.

Celestial Destroyer is a F2P ( Free to Play ) 1st English version MMORPG with a touch of Chinese Epic Adventures, based on the popular chinese love story novel in a superb game engine, concept and 3D graphics. Story: I didn't really pay much attention to the story, but its basically you going around to do some minor quests and eventually hitting lvl 15 to do a quest to join a clan. You have to do the quests in order for the next ones to appear otherwise you can't progress. Graphic: The graphics are pretty good. There are nice visual effects, but the character and monster models are pretty bland. The terrain is also not very appealing. It's a full 3D graphics game, but even some low-end computer specs can handle this game. Gameplay: If you've played Perfect World, you've probably played this game as well. The game is set up in the exact same way so that if you've played any of their previous games before, you can just jump right in and start killing. There are two unique features: Full 3D Pathing System and Flying Weapons maybe interest you.Full 3D Pathing System.The path finding system in the game is very nice. You can open up a transparent map, click on where you want to go, and your character will immediately start running to the location using the shortest route possible. Its very good for getting around places and you don't want to having to deal with running all the way to the other side of the map manually. Flying Weapons. In traditional Chinese martial art myths, flying a sword is the ultimate sign of a powerful warrior. ZX Online: Journey to Immortality brings this fantasy alive in the game. Talisman Craftin is another good point in game. Talismans give you new skills and boost your stats. If you have a matching set of 2 or 3 talismans, they boost each other's stats and provide greater bonuses. You can level up some talismans by using the skills corresponding to the talisman. Its basically a way to force players to skill grind. Healers have no problem with this since they can keep casting it, but fighter classes have to spam it on mobs to level it up. Overall: Though it’s still on its closed beta test, It has enough to keep it from being a bad game. The game creators need to improve on the design to make it as an outstanding game, but still, it is worth checking out, the final decision will come from the gamers decision.

This brand-new massively multiplayer online game is announced today at press conference by BioWare at the LucasArts campus in San Francisco, California. Star Wars: The Old Republic is based on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the PC and the original Xbox system that released five years ago. Star Wars: The Old Republic set 300 years after the events in Knights of the Old Republic, players will be put on a massive war between the Empire and the Republic and must choose a side. Bioware want the game to fit the proportions and scale of a conflict that spans the entire galaxy. The battle rages from the capital of Coruscant to the far reaches of the Outer Rim. The game will follow BioWare’s emphasis on “choice with consequences” with room for players to be ambiguous or conflicted about their motives. In short, it’s a perpetual RPG that delivers the full BioWare experience. Star Wars: The Old Republic - Force Choke the Enemy. BioWare roleplaying games are typically built on four pillars: exploration, progression, combat and story. The first three are already a big part of the MMO landscape and are areas in which BioWare has excelled. But the excellent stories that BioWare has consistently delivered in their single-player roleplaying games haven’t really found a reliable expression online. Bioware want Star Wars: The Old Republic to focus on the fourth pillar of adding story and character within the MMO genre. Moreover, they actually want the game to leverage the social aspects of the MMO to drive the narrative in ways that haven’t been possible in their single-player games.

Originally released exclusively in China as a browser based game, Heroes of Might and Magic Online is now heading to Western shores. The game is set in the same world as Heroes III, mainly in the Kingdom of Erathia. While veterans of the classic RPG series will recognize the back story, the whole ‘online’ experience will be new to them. Might and Magic Online is a diverse game that mixes turn based combat with city and unit management. Battle take place in gridded maps which gives the game a unique feel. The graphics definetly look dated, but that hasn’t stopped Heroes of Might and Magic Online from gaining a large audiance in Chinese. Let’s see if it can pull off the same stunt in the US. Closed beta is slated to begin in May, 2010.

Conquer distinguishes itself from the MMORPG pack in some old-school ways that, because of their retro feeling, make the game seem fresh--if not innovative. Instead of going for detailed 3D rendering, Conquer's anime style is more cartoony and rounded, and very well-suited to the pseudo-mystical ancient Chinese milieu in which it's set. You can play one of several characters: Warrior, Archer, magically-inclined Taoist, or a Trojan. The anachronistically-named Trojan is the strongest character, whereas the Archer is the fastest, the Warrior the most versatile, and the Taoist the most magically inclined. Advanced Taoists, whom we mistakenly thought were meant to be the peaceful, contemplative sort, can become Water or Fire Taoists. As in other MMORPGs, when you complete quests, kill creatures, and pick up coins, you level up and become stronger. Conquer has a more unique backstory, if only because it's not lifted from European medieval fantasy; hobbit-hunters should look elsewhere. The install file is smaller than most free MMORPGs, and the smaller footprint doesn't eat up quite as much of your system resources. Online documentation is better, too, and most newbie questions can be answered by perusing their site. All in all, Conquer is a fun game with a distinctive style, and is absolutely worth checking out.

Attackers – They serve as part of the Ak’Kan Combatants. Attackers are extremely aggressive and dangerous. Templars – Provide protection to the Ak’Kan nation. Their ability to shield and strong defense skills make them valuable. Gunners – Although, weak in combat Gunners possess a Gun Arm to fire at enemies with accuracy. The game’s biggest drawback is the fact that it has an extremely small playerbase. If you can look past that and the game’s weird baby theme, Come on Baby is actually a solid racing MMO.

Talisman Online is a free 3D fantasy MMORPG with colorful graphics. TO gets its name from powerful items in the game known as Talismans. There are two types of Talismans: Weapon Talismans and Assistant Talismans. A character can have one Weapon Talisman and two Assistant Talismans at the same time. Each of the game's 5 professions has their own set of Talismans. For example, a Monk has a shovel for a Weapon Talisman while a Wizard has a sword and a Tamer has a Pet Bell for an Assistant Talisman while a Fairy has a Treasure Leaf instead. In addition to the Talismans, this game is bolstered by an auction house that can be found in cities and guilds fighting for control of Stone City and Blood Mountain. To make buying and selling easier for players, this game has an auction house and banking (warehouse) similar to World of Warcraft. In fact, just looking at the screenshots on this page shows that the game bears a strong resemblance to WoW. The upside of this is that Talisman Online incorporates some of WoW's better ideas to make the game more player-friendly. However, the guild war is a little different from WoW. Instead of just being able to access NPCs like in WoW's Halaa (which is controlled by a faction instead of a guild), guilds that control Stone City earn tax income from NPCs and can hunt a special area exclusively. With the resemblance to WoW and the aforementioned features, Talisman Online could eventually develop into one of the better free MMORPGs.

Blackshot’s only real unique game mode is its Player Vs. Environment mode where up to four players at once have to defend an area from an onslaught of computer controlled enemies. With numerous weapons, maps and four game modes Blackshot offers enough diversity to keep players entertained for a while, but those that have played Nexon’s Combat Arms, Aeria’s WolfTeam or any other MMOFPS shouldn’t be too impressed with BlackShot, as all of these games are very similar.

League of Legends (LoL for short), is a 3D fantasy MMO by Riot Games where players choose from one of many champions and fight it out against their enemies. Oz Chronicle is a 2D Fantasy MMORPG that looks lot like Fiesta Online and plays a lot like Wind Slayer. With a nicely animated game world and a hands on fun combat system Oz Chronicle is yet another worthy player in the side scrolling MMORPG market. The game has four playable starting classes and they are : Knight – Knights are the generic ‘melee’ oriented class in Oz Chronicle. They have the most hit points and armor in the game but only mediocre offensive ability. Thief – Thieves are excellent at dealing large amounts of damage quickly in melee combat but they aren’t nearly as capable as the Knight in absorbing damage. Gunner – As the name implies, Gunners are proficient at using gun weapons in combat. They’re remarkably capable in combat as they can kite their opponents with relative ease. Like the thief though, they are fairly vulnerable in melee combat. Magician - Like in most MMORPGs, magicians are powerful spell casters who can deal devestating amounts of damage with their attacks, but they have low hitpoints and armor which makes them vulnerable in melee combat.

Koongya Adventure is a new side-scrolling game from Korea that plays similarly to the recently released Dragonica Online. The game mixes 2D movement with 3D backgrounds to accomplish a unique visual style not yet seen in the free to play MMORPG scene. The character designs are also original, players play as cute little blob creatures but can alter their appearance as they progress through the game. Gameplay is fast paced and mixes action-RPG combat with platformer like navigation. Players will be jumping from platform to platform, climbing ropes, and hopping on opponent’s heads to progress. The side-scrolling nature of the game will also draw similarities between Koongya Adventure and games like MapleStory, Wind Slayer, and LaTale.

Prius Online is a new fantasy MMORPG that was recently released in South Korea by Netmarble. The game took three years to finish and it looks like a great product. While the developers have promised to bring the game to the Western market, no date has yet been set. From the limited information currently available, it looks like the graphic style was influenced by Blizzard’s mega hit WoW but still maintains the anime inspired look found in most Asian MMORPGs. The most interesting feature in Prius Online is the Anima companion system. All players will encounter a girl named Anima during their adventure. This woman has lost her memory and it is up to the player to help her on the path the recovery.
